About the project

2020
A question from a doctor
The history of the project began in the Biophotonics Lab at Skoltech, when Sergey Gorodkov, a pediatric surgeon from SSMU, proposed to develop a device for non-invasive and objective assessment of infantile hemangioma.

2020–2024
Research and publication
Several years of work on this task as part of the NGP (Next Generation Program) at Skoltech: the team published a scientific article and received financial support from the institute to bring the developments into medicine.

The company
The startup was founded and immediately received the status of a Skolkovo resident. The developments are being turned into a production device and software fit for everyday clinical use.
Our technology
We create our own multispectral cameras, as well as the software that processes the images they capture.
Multispectral cameras allow us to determine, for each pixel, how human skin reacts to light at different wavelengths. Methods of biophotonics then show which components in the skin are responsible for the effects we observe. This is how we use light to determine the composition of the skin and make a diagnosis.

1
Prepare the examination
The doctor adds the patient in the computer application, creates an examination and sends it to the device.
-
2
Capture the skin area
The doctor aims the device at the area being examined and starts the capture. The device takes a series of images under light at different wavelengths.
-
3
Transfer the images
The images are transferred from the device to the computer over the local network. They are then available in the application for processing.
-
4
Review the results
The application processes the images and calculates metrics for the skin area. The doctor reviews the results in the examination record.
